Information on postal voting - delay in the delivery of documents
The documents for all postal votes requested so far could not be delivered because the printed ballot papers were only delivered to us today. As these were procured centrally via the state electoral officer, we had no influence on this. In addition, we were initially only provided with a limited number of ballot papers: While we currently have over 4,400 postal vote applications, we have only received 3,800 ballot papers. Unfortunately, the state electoral officer did not carry out a prior needs assessment.
Since receiving the ballot papers, we have been working flat out to finalize the postal ballot documents for these 3,800 voters. They will be sent out today, February 6. We expect the second delivery of ballot papers on February 11 or 12.
As processing cannot be carried out in strict chronological order, it is possible that not all postal voting documents for a household are delivered at the same time. It can also happen that individual applicants receive their documents earlier than others, even though their application was received later.
We ask for your understanding that some applicants will not receive their postal voting documents until February 17, 2025 at the latest. If you have not received your documents by then, please contact us immediately.
To ensure that your vote is cast on time, we recommend that you cast your postal vote immediately after receiving the documents and return them to us as soon as possible.
Thank you very much for your understanding and patience.
