Heat pumps are considered a key technology for the sustainable heating of residential buildings in Germany. They not only play an important role in the new construction sector, but also offer potential for an efficient and economical heat supply in existing buildings. For this to succeed, however, certain structural and technical requirements must be met.
In the online lecture, Manfred Hamm, energy consultant at the Rhineland-Palatinate Consumer Advice Center, explains whether and under what conditions a heat pump can be considered as a new heating system. He explains how the heat pump works, what requirements the building and the radiators should meet, what subsidies are available and whether a combination with a photovoltaic system makes sense.
