The program also included appointments and assignments of new fire chiefs and their deputies as well as personnel changes in the Bambini and youth fire departments. Previous members of these departments were officially bid farewell. Other items on the agenda included promotions and the farewell to comrades who have retired from active service on reaching the age limit.
Around 120 guests, including members of the fire department, fire chiefs, local mayors, Mayor Anna Carina Krebs and the deputies of the association municipality, accepted the invitation to the village community center.
In her speech, Mayor Anna Carina Krebs - in the presence of Fire Chief Richard Wirtz and his deputies Armin Dockendorf and Frank Weis - paid tribute to the outstanding commitment of all firefighters.
Mayor Anna Carina Krebs emphasized that the commitment of firefighters goes far beyond the everyday. The commitment to the protection and safety of the population is not a matter of course, but an expression of deep social responsibility. The constant willingness to help others in emergency situations deserves the highest recognition and is an indispensable pillar of community life.
