The Gerolstein State Mobility Agency is currently carrying out sewer and road construction work along the L 4 and K 20 within the town of Irrel. The work is being carried out in several phases to minimize disruptions to businesses and residents. Work began on the section along the K 20 (Hauptstraße) within the town of Irrel up to the intersection of the L 4 and K 20 (Prümzurlayer Straße). This section is now complete, so the full closure along the K 20 will be lifted as of July 31, 2026. The one-way traffic regulation on Hauptstraße and Ewerhartstraße will take effect again as of July 31, 2026.
The upcoming section runs from the Südeifel Municipal Administration Office in Irrel to the intersection of the L 4 and K 20.
A detour route runs from the Niederweiser Straße roundabout via “Am Spitulersberg” – Prümzurlayer Straße – Ewerhartstraße toward Luxembourg, Camping Südeifel, and the “Auf Zweikreuz” industrial park.
Due to the width of the roadways, a full closure is necessary for the work in both sections. This is to ensure the safety of workers on site as well as that of road users.
The third phase of construction is scheduled for completion in March 2027.
