Submission in accordance with the Whistleblower Protection Act
The Verbandsgemeinde Südeifel is committed to transparency, integrity and compliance with legal regulations. We provide a whistleblower system in order to identify and rectify irregularities at an early stage. This system enables employees, business partners and third parties to report possible violations of applicable law or internal regulations confidentially and, if desired, anonymously.
Whistleblowers enjoy comprehensive protection against discrimination or reprisals. Reports are processed in strict confidentiality and in accordance with legal requirements.
Legal basis
The whistleblower system is based on the following legal principles:
Whistleblower Protection Act (HinSchG): The German Whistleblower Protection Act, which came into force on July 2, 2023, transposes EU Directive 2019/1937 into national law and regulates the protection of persons who report information about violations in a professional context.
EU Whistleblower Directive (Directive (EU) 2019/1937): This directive prescribes uniform standards across Europe for the protection of whistleblowers and the establishment of secure reporting channels.
By introducing the whistleblower system, we are fulfilling our legal obligations and promoting an open corporate culture in which reports of misconduct are taken seriously and dealt with appropriately.
